From solar PV powered planes, to bins that suck rubbish from the ocean, there are a lot of cool and great environmental centred ideas and creations currently being rolled out across the world.
The world is not in great shape, and carbon emissions need to be reduced in order to secure the longevity of Earth. Fortunately, going green does not need to mean being boring!
Some of the cool developments in the green tech and environmental spheres include:
- Solar PV panel phone chargers. Charge your phone from anywhere, as long as the sun is shining – the perfect companion for any smart phone owner.
- Electric Vehicles. They look awesome, like the BMW i8, and they are impressively quick – the Tesla Model S P85D accelerates from 0-60mph in just 3.1 seconds (that is faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo!).
- Illuminated roads, that make driving safer and use solar power, rather than draining electricity from the grid.
- Ambient LED Lighting – control all of your lights and lamps from your smartphone. The best part about these cool lights is that they use hardly any electricity, making them very environmentally friendly.
- Solar Powered Plane – We already know that the sun is an impressive natural resource, but imagine if it could power our aircraft! The Solar Impulse team are making this a reality, flying around the globe powered by nothing but the suns energy.
